As of Monday, 19 December 2022, employers of domestic help are required to register these online with the Dominican Social Security System. The registration is in compliance with the Ministry of Labor Resolution 14-2022.
The registration means the employee and family are included in the government family health insurance. The employer and employee will next be notified so they can begin to make contributions to the pension account of the employees.
The Ministry of Labor has launched the pilot plan for the regularization of domestic work, which covers household cleaning activities, home laundry services, cooking, home child care, fixed-hour nurses, gardening, chauffeurs and other home-based activities.

Once the validations is completed, the Social Security Treasury (TSS) will issue the corresponding payment notifications. Payments may be made online through the network of social security-collecting banks.
