The Tigres del Licey defeated the Gigantes del Cibao on Wednesday, 11 January 2023 and the playoff teams were decided. It will be the Tigres matching the Estrellas Orientales. Licey and Estrellas tied the standings of the semi-final round robin, winning 10 games and losing six games each.
The Tigres defeated the Gigantes 8-0, with a home run by Mel Rojas included and stellar pitching by Brooks Hall who only allowed two hits in his six innings.
The Estrellas won the right to play the playoffs by defeating the Aguilas Cibaeñas 3-2, thanks to three home runs during the Wednesday game.
