
Congress passed the US$100 million Interamerican Development Bank loan to improve life conditions of the most vulnerable population in the country through welfare disbursements for health and education. The program will strengthen activities of the Sistema Unico de Beneficiarios (Siuben) capacity to identify those who qualify for the aid. The funds will provide a boost to the governmental Superate programs. In addition, to support the strengthening of existing services and strategies under the Supérate program, the Instituto de Atención Integral de la Primera Infancia (Inaipi), the Consejo Nacional de Personas Envejecientes (Conape) and the Consejo Nacional de la Persona con Discapacidad (Conadis).
DR-L1152 Support for Consolidation of an Inclusive Social Protection System in the Dominican Republic passed in the Congress. The IDB explains that this operation aims to strengthen the social protection and health sectors, improving access and quality of services to promote human capital accumulation and improve living conditions of the most vulnerable population.
