
Vice President Raquel Peña is in Switzerland to participate in the activities of debates on economic and global affairs on the occasion of the Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum 2023 in Davos.
According to a press release sent by the Presidency of the Republic, Peña arrived to Zurich, Switzerland and met with the Dominican community on 14 January 2023 before attending the Davos meetings. She shared photos of the activity on her Twitter feed.
During the World Economic Forum, Peña has scheduled bilateral meetings with international entities and event sessions with business people, academics and government officials.
She will participate in various panels, including “Accelerating Gender Parity in STEM” and “Leading Responsible Travel and Tourism,” among others.
On Wednesday, 18 January, she will participate in a panel on “Leadership for Latin America” together with the President of Costa Rica, Rodrigo Chávez Robles; the President of Ecuador, Guillermo Lasso Mendoza, and the President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro Urrego.
Then on Thursday, 19 January, she is scheduled to leave for Madrid to participate in the International Tourism Fair (Fitur). She will also attend the activity of the Banco de Reservas and the Ministry of Tourism called “Dominicana Inmersiva,” and the presentation of Punta Bergantín Tourism Project to relaunch the destination of Puerto Plata.
