The Isabel de Torres cable car management announces the skylift will be out of service for a week in January for routine maintenance. The cable car ride up the lofty low mountain in Puerto Plata is one of the most popular tours taken by cruise ship passengers, who now will have to choose another excursion.
The preventive works will be carried out starting Thursday, 19 January 2023, according to a press release from the cable car administration.
The management reports the two cables that pull the funiculars that transports passengers to the top and bottom of the Isabel Torres hill are getting a safety check. The maintenance covers the cabins, the control panels and incorporates other system checks.
The maintenance work had been scheduled for 16 January, but was brought forward by the Inteckno company.
