Government authorities seized 227 packs of suspected cocaine after giving chase and forcing a fast boat to run aground just off the coast of Nigua, in San Cristobal province. The authorities did not report arrests.
The 227 packs of the suspected cocaine were brought ashore or found washed up on nearby beaches by both naval and drug enforcement agents.
The 32 foot-long boat and its 85 horsepower outboard motor were sent to custody and investigation, together with GPS unit, a couple of satellite telephones and a cellphone.
