A worthwhile event for people of all ages, the National Agricultural and Livestock Fair 2023 is scheduled to take place at the Feria Ganadera grounds on the Malecón this coming 17 to 26 March 2023.
The Patronato Nacional de Ganaderos (PNG) organizes the annual event to showcase the best of national agropecuarian production foster the unity of the sector and food security.
Agriculture Minister Limber Cruz said there will be a focus on sheep and goat raising in the 2023 fair.
On the program for 2023 are the usual exhibitions, sale of livestock, farm products, equipment and machinery, and livestock competitions.
The Deputy Minister of Rural Development of the Ministry of Agriculture, Miriam Guzmán on making the announcement of the dates of the annual event called it the most important in the Dominican agricultural sector.
José Manuel Mallén, president of the Patronato de Ganaderos, highlighted that in the last two years there have been no shortages and thanked the government for its support to national production, which is becoming more and more necessary. He said that the fair represents an opportunity for educational centers and the general population to visit and learn about agriculture and the progress made in the sector.
Activities on the program this year are:
Judging of beautiful forms of milk and meat bovine breeds
Paso Higüeyano horse competitions
Paso fino exhibitions and competitions
Rodeo, among other equestrian sports disciplines.
Exhibitions of sheep, goats, dogs and the main agricultural products.
For 10 days, the entire agricultural chain, that is, from the field to the consumer, will have the opportunity to present their progress and above all the quality of national production with the exhibition and sale of agricultural products and equipment.
The National Agricultural Fair is a great educational exhibition for all the public attending. There are lectures, workshops, national and international exponents give talks in all areas of production. The Dominican Canine Federation is also on schedule for several activities.
