Urban music is the most popular music with young people in the Dominican Republic. CCN, the local general stores and food consortium, has sponsored a music track that brings the voices of urban music to sing a new version of the iconic merengue “Dominicano Soy” (1987). The performers in the new version are: El Alfa, Kiko El Crazy, DJ Adonis, Chimbala, Amara La Negra, Shelow Shaq, El Mayor Clásico, El Cherry, La Insuperable, Natan El Profeta, Dahian El Apechao, Riccie Oriach and Leton Pe.
Well known urban music genre producer, Chael Produciendo, developed the musical mix. The audiovisual production is by Panamericana de Producciones directed by Archie Lopez.
Others that appear in the video are Dominican personalities singer Charityn Goico, comedian Cuquin Victoria, ball players Vladimir Guerrero, David Ortiz, Albert Pujols, Dominicana’s Got Talent presenter Francisco Vasquez and volleyball player Prisilla Rivera; representing all Dominicans with their work, talent and pride.
