The Grand Paradise Samana will become the Wyndham Alltra Samana. The 404-room property will undergo a major renovation this year. It is scheduled to reopen in the third quarter of the year. The resort is located on Playa Grande in Las Galeras, the northeastern-most tourism beach area of the Samana peninsula.
Playa Hotels & Resorts will manage the property after it joins with Wyndham Hotels and Resorts.
Fernando Mulet, chief investment officer for Playa Hotels & Resorts said “We are pleased to continue the growth of the Wyndham Alltra brand and are excited to launch a new property in a fast-growing region of the Dominican Republic. Many developers are beginning to hear about Samaná, and we’re excited to support the awareness of this desirable destination with the opening of this new resort.”
Renovations will focus on main common areas, food and beverage outlets, and guestrooms. The company says the rebrand will ensure guests enjoy upscale food and beverage, services, amenities, and activities with an expressive local flavor at an exceptional value. The renovations seek to attract upper-midscale market segment.
Grand Paradise has been for years the largest in Las Galeras, a destination marked by small lodging.
