President Luis Abinader was in Punta Cana for W Punta Cana Uvero Alto ground breaking. Uvero Alto is a beach to the north of Punta Cana. The US$130 million resort is built by the association of Grupo Puntacana, Mac Hotels and Marriott International. It is expected to open in summer 2024.
The design includes a spa with eleven treatment rooms, a commercial area, three swimming pools with bars, and eleven restaurant and bar options. The adults-only hotel will have 349 rooms. Rooms will have balconies and plunge pools.
The president and CEO of the Puntacana Group, Frank Elías Rainieri, highlighted that this project is part of the diversification and expansion strategies of the group that operates the Punta Cana International Airport, the Puntacana Resort & Club, the Punta Cana Westin and Four Points by Sheraton.
