Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, Fermont Group and Grupo De Valle announced on 10 April 20223 the construction of The Ocean Front La Quinta Pedernales – Cabo Rojo hotel on the boardwalk in Pedernales city. The hotel will have 110 rooms and is scheduled to open in the summer of 2025.
The multi-story hotel will have a lobby bar with co-working spaces, a pool lounge, and a seaside restaurant and grill. It is also designed as a family-focused hotel with many children’s play areas and activities. There will be family rooms for four, single and double bedrooms, and six suites.
“The future hotel marks a milestone signing for the Wyndham Hotels brand. It welcomes a new and highly sought-after destination to its portfolio in the Dominican Republic with Grupo De Valle,” said Edward de Valle II, speaking for the finance group. He announced the signing of an agreement with the Wyndham Hotels and Resorts chain and Fermont Group for the development of the project.
The property emphasizes sustainable comfort that blends into the surroundings, native flora, and fauna, connecting guests with the beaches and environment.
Fairmont, SRL, Grupo De Valle, Estrella, and Tupete, Wyndham Exclusive Development Partners, are constructing a La Quinta in Puerto Plata, scheduled to open in Fall 2024. In early March 2023, Grupo De Valle and Estrella & Tupete co-hosted a project announcement ceremony with Vice President of the Dominican Republic Raquel Pena to develop La Quinta San Francisco de Macoris region, in the northeast.
The Abinader administration is motivating the tourism development of the Pedernales destination. A cruise ship terminal is approved to bring hundreds of thousands of maritime tourists to visit the Bahia de las Aguilas beach attraction.
