President Luis Abinader issued Decree 158-23 that declares a national priority the implementation of a policy of energy saving and efficiency in all the Public Administration entities part of the Executive Branch. The Presidency says the intent is for the government to serve as a model to be followed by citizens and private companies in promoting a culture of environmental and energy savings nationwide.
The decree orders energy-saving measures that regulate the temperature of air conditioning and public lighting.
