
Forbes says that people like the no surprises and pay-once features that are part of the all-inclusve accommodations model. Forbes reports at the same time, the new wave of travel is all about people seeking luxury abroad.
The Dominican Republic introduced six-star luxury all-inclusive resorts many years ago when most of its tourists came from Europe. Today the US is the primary source of tourists for the Dominican Republic. And now, the US brands are catering to the ultra comfort and relaxation-seeking US traveler and, to do so, are opening all-inclusive accommodations.
Marriott CEO Anthony Capuano tells Forbes that the all-inclusive segment is a key growth area for the company. The company’s first-ever all-inclusive W Hotel will be opening in 2025 in the DR with 349 rooms and suites in the northern Uvero Alto area of Punta Cana beach strip. Marriott will also be operating the Ritz Carlton All-Access hotel in Punta Cana.
Likewise, Hyatt has invested in several luxury all-inclusives in the Punta Cana area.
