
The National Theater announces it will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a dance festival set for 5 and 6 May, and 12 and 13 May 2023. The Ballet Nacional Dominicano and the Ballet Concierto Dominicano are the two Dominican ballet companies that will be performing for the festival.
The program of the National Dance Festival is designed to showcase the performances and choreographies of outstanding artists, the technical skills of the dancers, and, especially, the evolution, dynamism and vanguard of various styles and themes.
“Gala Première”, by Ballet Concierto Dominicano, will present the choreographies “Anima Mobile” by Carlos Veitía; “Por una rosa,” by Pablo Pérez, and “Amanecer” by Ramón Oller, an outstanding European choreographer, directed by Sarah Esteva and Lisbell Piedra.
Rainer Krenstetter and Tricia Albertson, principal dancers of Miami City Ballet will be the guest dancers.
