The Central Electoral Board (JCE) uploaded the Calendar of Administrative and Legal Deadlines for Elections 2024, adjusted to the amendment of Electoral Regime Law 20-23.
The municipal elections in the Dominican Republic are set for 18 February 2024, to be followed by the presidential and congressional elections on 19 May 2024. The electoral campaign officially opens on 2 July 2023 with time for the pre-candidates to get into action. By October 2023, the candidates need to be chosen by the political parties.
Political parties have not heeded to the electoral calendar and for months have been in open intense campaign activities.
