DR won a slot in the first phase of the CWU20 Championship moving on to the finals that will take place 24 May to 3 June 2023 at the Estadio Panamericano in San Cristóbal, Dominican Republic.
Other teams that qualified during the 15 to 23 April 2023 tournament phase were El Salvador, Panama, Puerto Rico, Jamaica and Costa Rica.
The Dominican Republic U20 is ranked 8th behind the United States, Mexico, Canada, Haiti, Costa Rica, Jamaica and Puerto Rico as of 29 August 2022.
The top three teams winning the 24 May to 3 June 2023 event will then represent CONCACAF, which covers North and Central America and the Caribbean, at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in 2024.
