The Second Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice decided today to issue preventive detention against two of three Dutch nationals requested in extradition by The Netherlands.
Court judges Francisco Jerez Mena, Nancy Salcedo and María Garabito ordered that Dennis Goedee and Terrence Angelo Richard de Vries be sent to the Najayo prison until the extradition process is concluded.
The court postponed for 3 May 2023 the request for coercive measures against Urvin Laurence Wawoe, alias Nuto, also wanted for extradition.
The detainees are accused by The Netherlands judicial authorities of drug trafficking, arms trafficking, contract killing, murders and other crimes and allegedly of being members of the criminal structures Mocro Maffia and No Limit Soldier.
Goedee’s lawyers said they were not opposed to prison order for their client, but that his rights and dignified conditions be respected. Goedee is a majority owner of the Hard Rock Café Santo Domingo.
Dennis Goedee was naturalized Dominican, according to some court documents on the proceedings.
The same court set for 13 June 2023 the hearing of the extradition request of Dennis Goedee and Terrence Angelo Richard de Vries, presented by the deputy prosecutor Andres Chalas of the Extradition Department of the Attorney General’s Office.
