Here comes the Saharan Dust

Weather forecaster Jean Suriel says a dense and extensive Saharan dust cloud is moving east of the Atlantic and will soon be here.

Suriel tweeted the Saharan dust season has begun and will last until the end of September. Peak time is from June to August.

Jean Suriel explained that these dust clouds come from North Africa, with an extension of 9.4 million square kilometers.

The Saharan Dust makes for worse thermal sensations at a time when already the hot summer is encroaching. The US Climate Prediction Center says the weather outlook for summer 2023 will be warmer than average, with about average amount of rain. The forecast is for a long, hot summer, with unrelenting heat, hanging on from June through September.
