President Luis Abinader was in Punta Caucedo on Wednesday, 10 May 2023 for the inauguration of the Marítima Dominicana (Mardom) logistics warehouse, a RD$715 million investment.
Mardom built the warehouse as part of country advances to become a regional logistics hub. The new warehouse is a world-class infrastructure of 11,000 square meters, with capacity for 16,000 dry cargo positions and more than 2,000 refrigerated cargo positions. The Customs Agency operates a facility whereby customers can carry out their customs procedures and formalities.
Speaking for Mardom, company president Gustavo Tavares said: “Every day we work to meet the needs of our customers with innovative solutions, putting cutting-edge technologies and integrated management systems in the hands of highly trained professionals. That is why we are leaders in four business segments: port agency and stevedoring, integrated logistics services, refrigeration services, terminal operator and container yard.”
Also present for the inauguration was Minister of Industry & Commerce Victor (Ito) Bisonó, the director of the Customs Agency Eduardo Sanz Lovaton and the director of the Dominican Port Authority, Jean Luis Rodriguez.
