The media, and several interviews and podcasts on YouTube are expressing the general apprehension on the decision of judge Patricia Padilla, of the Second Instruction Court of the National District to not allow the surveillance video that showed the murder to be used against the former director of the National Drug Control Agency (DNCD), Felix Alburquerque Compres. The firearm that was used is also missing.
Legal experts say that with the decision to impede the use of the video and with the missing firearm, the legal defense of Alburquerque could make a case for the release of the retired military. It is known that talks are underway for the financial compensation of the family.
The video clearly shows how Alburquerque Compres went in pursuit of Mariano Tavares Duncan, fired a first and second shot that killed the man.
Diario Libre reports this is not the first time Alburquerque Compres is accused of murder.
