The Weather Office (Onamet) says the rains and intense heat and humidity will continue nationwide. A trough continues to affect the country. There will be showers and heavy downpours, thunderstorms and even wind gusts. The more intense weather is forecast for Puerto Plata, Santiago Rodriguez, Valverde, La Vega, Monseñor Nouel, Santiago, San Juan de la Maguana, El Seibo, Elías Piña and Dajabón. Coastal provinces are also affected by the passing trough and a tropical wave passing to the south of the island over the Caribbean Sea
