The CEO of Alofoke Media Group, Santiago Matías (Alofoke) has spoken with maximum expressions of obscene language. He says he will not attend the meeting requested by the National Commission of Public Entertainment and Radio (CNEPR) on Wednesday, 31 May 2023, at the Ministry of Culture, on “the impact of digital platforms (YouTube).” He said the meeting would be a waste of time.
He understands that the CNEPR has no legal power to make him an invitation to deal with issues related to the YouTube platform since Dominican authorities do not regulate it.
He also indicated that he would not apologize ¨for any word said that day, obscene or not.¨
“It is something that I feel in my heart of each of the people I expressed that day, I will not apologize for that; I feel every word, everything I said in my heart of each of those people who have tried to tarnish the image of this company and Santiago Matías,” he said.
The president of the Public Entertainment and Radio Commission, José Baéz, summoned the CEO to Santiago Matías to formally discuss the impact of digital platforms, specifically YouTube.
The president of Alofoke Media Group, Santiago Matías, announced on Saturday, 27 May 2023 that he is retiring from the media, after, according to the entrepreneur and youtuber, he exhausted a process of several days of introspection.
“I pay a high price for breaking the system, for altering the rules of conformism that have condemned my generation to be sheep,” wrote Alofoke in all his social networks, where he added that he has been the target of people who, “with their half-truths disguised as morals,” want his head.
However, the popular influencer and digital media content producer highlighted the success of his most recent projects. And then he said, he would enter a new stage in his productions.
“Today, I say goodbye to this stage of my life, from which I take great lessons. My clock is ticking. Alofoke Miami, Alofoke Radio and the great achievements of this process continue. With much affection says goodbye to the number 1 Spanish-speaking streamer on planet Earth.”
Matias’ farewell comes a few days after the National Public Entertainment Commission summoned him for next Wednesday to speak on “the impact of digital platforms (Youtube).”
Meanwhile, psychiatrist Jose Miguel Gomez alerted that influencers are harming Dominican youths.
