There were no big headlines in the Dominican press touting the win of Florida’s Miami Heat in the NBA Eastern Conference Finals. Indeed, most media did not even cover the story. Like it or not, Miami Heat bested the Boston Celtics 103-84 in the game in Boston on Monday, 29 May 2023. Dominicans had been following the games given that Al Horford plays for Boston.
It was an electrifying semi-finals. The Heat first took a 3-0 lead, but the Celtics showed their resilience, winning games 4, 5 and 6 and pushing the series back to Boston for game 7. Then Boston’s star player, Jayson Tatum played in pain, twisting his left ankle 26 seconds into the first quarter and the team could not deliver.
