The administrator of the National Lottery, Teofilo “Quico” Tabar, has gone public to say that he has requested that the Ministry of Hacienda suspend the contracts of the electronic lottery concessionaires and the raffles they carry out.
He said he has also recommended the withdrawing of the inspectors of the Ministry of Hacienda that certify these draws in the name of the Dominican state. He called for the backing of the Notary Public Association and the Association of Public Accountants.
The head of the National Lottery said he understands that many of these contracts were granted or signed during questionable periods. He assures that “some of their owners violate what is established in the contracts themselves and in aspects established in the law.”
In a public statement, the administrator of the National Lottery expressed that the contracts have differences in terms of validity, economic compensations, amount of sales points and approved drawings, all of which must be corrected.
