In a new development in the tragic accident in which two students died and another dozen are injured, it is now known that the grain truck was not property of Pollo Cibao. In an interview with Diario Libre, Edwin Cruz, president of Transporte HC, said his company assumes responsibility for the accident and the injured. He said his company provides the service to Pollo Cibao, a large poultry company. The clash between the grain truck and the school bus left two teenagers dead, the bus driver and several minors injured.
El Dia reports that the grain truck driver, 24-year old Ismael Daniel Matos Hernandez was tested to detect if there were toxic substances in his blood. Prosecutors of Hato Mayor are in charge of the investigation.
Meanwhile, the families buried 15-year olds Alexandra Clevel and Estefani Castillo, that died in the truck and bus crash on Tuesday, 30 May 2023. The school bus was parked on the Hato Mayor-El Valle-Sabana de la Mar road waiting for students to board.
