RD$400 million for tourism in Santiago

Minister of Tourism David Collado announced on 22 June 2023 the government support with RD$400 million to promote tourism in Santiago. Santiago is becoming a major hub for medical tourism. But with support from the government, the community wants to improve its attractions.

The funds will also serve to work on developing a Santiago City Brand, to be coordinated with the private sector. It will also go to renovate the Monument to the Heroes of Restoration, the large monument that welcomes people to the city.

“We are committed to the tourist development of Santiago, that is why we took Santiago to the Anato Fair in Colombia and that is why we want to make the necessary investments hand in hand with the private sector of this province to be able to boost the brand of the city and that every day can increase the arrival of tourists to this area” expressed Collado in during the meeting.

The meeting was coordinated by businessman Manuel Estrella. and Ricardo Founder of Compromiso Santiago, Carlos Iglesias, from the Chamber of Commerce and Production of Santiago, Sandy Filpo, from the Association of Traders and Industrialists, Ramón Paulino, from the Santiago Tourism Cluster, Fernando Capellán, Augusto Reyes, Edmundo Aja, among other businessmen.
