The director of the Ethics Department of the Presidency (DIGEIG), former Vice President Milagros Ortiz Bosch downplayed the findings of irregularities in the audits carried out by the Comptroller General Office in 18 government departments. On Wednesday, 28 June 2023, Ortiz Bosch said: “These audits are not serious and [the findings] can be corrected.”
Ortiz Bosch spoke before participating as a guest in a Senate committee, where she said that the findings of the Comptroller’s Office are sent to the public institutions involved so that the necessary corrective measures can be applied and the faults can be corrected.
Meanwhile, the media has shared dozens of audits with findings that would raise eyebrows.
As reported, President Luis Abinader ordered the making public of the audits for transparency sake.
