
The Dominican Republic (ranked 9th by FIVB) ended its participation in the prestigious Women’s Volleyball nations League (VNL) with 6 wins and 6 losses. The country did not make the cut for the second round of the top 16 women’s team volleyball competition. The DR, nevertheless, had important wins in its final games against China (ranked 6th) and Serbia (ranked 4th). The Dominican team did well when going the final stretch, winning in the fifth game.
The final round of the VNL is scheduled to take place from 12 to 16 July in Arlington, Texas (USA).

The first phase tournament standing ended: United States, Poland, Turkey, China, Japan, Brazil, Germany, Italy, Canada, Dominican Republic, Netherlands, Serbia, Bulgaria, Thailand, Croatia, Korea.
The DR women’s team now travels to El Salvador to participate in the Central American and Caribbean Sports Games. The team’s first clash will be on 4 July 2023.
