The Abinader administration named Manuel Mejia Naut as acting general manager of the country’s largest power distribution company, EdeEste.
The government entity is responsible for power distribution in eastern Santo Domingo throughout the east, except for areas serviced by private power suppliers. Mejia Naut replaces Andres Julio Portes. The reason for the change was not announced.
Manuel Mejía Naut has more than 30 years in the energy sector and, until this Friday, he held the position of eastern operational senior director.
