
Olympic medalists Alexander Ogando, Fiordaliza Cofil, Anabel Medina and Lidio Féliz repeated their Japan gold performance and won the mixed 4 x 400 relay at the 24th Central American and Caribbean Games. They clocked in at 3:012:81.
The race was started by Alexander Ogando, who at the final turn took control of the race and passed the baton to his teammate, Fiodaliza Cofil, who increased the lead at lightning speed. She handed over to Lidio Féliz, who charged forward and finally gave it to Anabel Medina, who had a spectacular closing without any problems. Second place went to Cuba with 3:16:97, and third to Colombia with 3:20:36.
In the 100 m, Jose Gonzalez won the silver medal at 10:26. He competed to the end with Emanuel Arcibalado of Guyano, who clocked 10:24.
