Arajet readies to fly to Toronto on 24 October 2023

Arajet Airlines, the local low-cost airline, has a quick sale offering US$86 each way (taxes and fees not included) from Santo Domingo to Toronto, Canada. The sale is on through 12 July 2023.

The airline seeks to serve the more than 40,000 Dominicans living in the Toronto area and the thousands of Canadian tourists that come to enjoy Dominican beaches and weather.

The flights from Las Americas International (SDQ) to Toronto’s Pearson International Airport (YYZ) start 24 October 2023. The flights will be four days a week – Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The flights enable travelers to connect to South America, Central America and the Caribbean.

Arajet is turning the Dominican Republic into the new low-fare hub of the continent, offering direct flights from Santo Domingo to Mexico City and Cancun in Mexico; San Jose, Costa Rica; Guatemala; San Salvador in El Salvador; Bogota, Medellin and Barranquilla in Colombia, Quito and Guayaquil in Ecuador; Lima in Peru; Sao Paulo in Brazil; Aruba; Curacao; St. Martin and Kingston, Jamaica. The attractively-priced non-stop flights are obliging major carriers to adjust their fares downward to compete. Arajet flies brand new Boeing 737-8s.

The United States Department of Transportation has yet to clear Arajet to fly to the United States. Arajet submitted the request in March 2023.
