The Weather Office (Onamet) says passing tropical wave and trough will bring welcome showers to refresh the country from the sweltering heat.
For Wednesday, 12 July 2023 the forecast for most of the country is sunny conditions and scarce rains in the morning hours due to a low humidity air mass circulating with dust particles from the Sahara. However, in the afternoon and evening, the effects of a tropical wave and a trough at various levels of the troposphere, will bring moderate to heavy downpours, thundershowers and wind gusts to the northeast, east and southeast. The tropical wave will continue to move westward bringing rains to the north, northeast, the eastern plain, the Caribbean coastal coast, the Central Mountain Range and the border area with Haiti.
Small boats are advised to remain in port due to abnormal waves and winds.
