
Five of the sextuplets born 17 years ago at the Plaza de la Salud General Hospital graduated this weekend from high school. The five young people seek scholarships to begin their university studies. Of the six, Emely Mariel was born paraplegic. She attended the graduation of her siblings.
The new high school graduates seek to study. Manuel Emilio wants to study law; Nerey Kiara advertising; Paola Esther medicine; Hugo Nicolás chemical engineering; and Emilio José graphic design.
The sextuplets were born on 26 December 2005 at the Plaza de la Salud General Hospital in Santo Domingo and will turn 18 years old this December 2023.
The young people are the children of Emilio Figuereo and Máxima Pérez, two entrepreneurs who have juggled raising and educating their seven children. Before the sextuplets, they had Fiordy, who is 23 years old today.
