The Dominican Medical Association (CMD) announces a 12-hour strike is scheduled for Monday, 31 July 2023 as the physicians’ guild seeks to pressure the government to respond to its demands. The guild says the strike will take place in both public and private medical centers.
The physicians seek better working conditions and better conditions for their patients from health insurance providers (ARS). They seek the government equal the minimum conditions offered by some ARS and the fees paid to physicians, among other demands.
