Many would speculate 30-year old Franyelis/Francelys Furcal, the woman who had mortally stabbed a Chinese work supervisor and then disappeared, had been converted into chop suey by vengeful Chinese. Furcal disappeared after she mortally injured her supervisor, 34-year old Chen Zongxin (Jhei Leet) in the Z&C Hardware store in Av. Duarte in Santo Domingo.
The store surveillance video showed when she stabbed the Chinese man after the deceased threw items he had on the counter and then kicked her. The woman responded grabbing a sharp knife to stab her aggressor, reportedly in self-defense.
The surveillance video shows the young woman throwing a notebook of invoices at the counter. The deceased then hits the woman with the same notebook. This causes Fulcar to throw the notebook against the supervisor, who then kicks her. After injuring her supervisor, she goes for help and returns only to go missing until she was arrested in Barcelona, Spain on 3 August 2023.
The Dominican police spokesman Diego Pesqueira says Furcal left the country on 22 June 2022 and then hid for 41 days in Pereira, Colombia, before flying to Sao Paulo, Brazil on 2 August 2022. From there, on 7 August, she traveled from Sao Paulo continuing on 8 August, to Doha, Qatar, Paris, France and then Barcelona, Spain.
The Spanish police in a joint operation with Interpol arrested her in Barcelona. She was being traced since she first traveled to Colombia. The media reports she obtained a fake citizenship in Colombia (Pereira) she used to travel to Sao Paulo, Qatar, Paris and Barcelona.
Noticias SIN reports that the Spanish law enforcement authorities were able to capture her because she typically wore her hair in a tubi, or the pre-style used to make hair straight.
Now there is speculation on who helped her leave and financed her new identity and long trip abroad. Police investigators say it was her spouse and relatives and that more details would be forthcoming. The woman is expected to be extradited to the Dominican Republic to face charges.
