Ever since his debut in June 2023, the youngster from the Dominican Republic, Elly De la Cruz has burned up the National League of MLB. Last week, DR1 News reported on what happened to the scoreboard crew in Milwaukee, and there was the story about how he has run the fastest home-to-third in decades.
Well, the fans at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles also got a dose of “Elly’s Revenge” last week when they chanted “overrated” as he came to bat for the second time.
In the first inning he had hit a single, nothing spectacular, although he did score the first run, so the chant by the Dodger fans: “overrated, overrated”. And what did the very young Cincinnati Reds star do? He promptly hit a 411 foot home run to deep right-center field. Finishing the game with four hits in five turns at bat, it seems that young Elly might be very underrated.
