
The Dominican Republic awaits the brunt of Tropical Storm Franklin on Wednesday and Thursday, but with the storm yet km away, it is already raining heavily on Tuesday, 22 August 2023.
Weather forecasters as of early morning Tuesday, 22 August 2023 say the storm is moving very slowly (3mph) in a NW direction that would bring it to enter the DR in the afternoon of Wednesday.
Meanwhile, in precaution, cruise ship companies and staying away and already two ships have announced they are suspending their stops in Puerto Plata. Cruise ship lines docking in La Romana are also expected to do the same. The south coast is expected to be impacted more by the heavy rains and surf than the north coast.
