The Cuban National Ballet returns to Santo Domingo’s National Theater on 9 September 2023. The National Ballet of Cuba is world renown for its excellence. The troupe will present Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, one of the most famous ballets ever written.
The Swan Lake ballet was revived in the late 19th century by Marius Petipa, the famous French-Russian ballet master of the St. Petersburg Ballet. The great love story will now be told by the 60 members of Cuba’s well-known ballet corps.
The version to be presented in Santo Domingo in September was created by the immortal ballerina and ballet master Alicia Alonso, and the ballet. It consists of three acts and an epilogue. The ballet is a mix of fantasy, evil creatures, magical transformations and triumph.
