Dominican Film Festival at Novocentro

The 3rd Made in DR Film Festival Fine Arts will take place at the Novocentro in Santo Domingo and the Plaza Internacional movie theaters in Santiago from 7 September to 13 September 2023. The organizers say that nine new Dominican movies will be shown.

The festival also features educational talks, a short film competition and panels with the participation of leading Dominican film creators. Zumaya Cordero, Caribbean Cinemas’ general director and festival organizer says the film festival complementary activities are free of charge, but people need to reserve their place to participate.

Altice telecom is sponsoring the festival. Those attending on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and who are Altice customers will receive a 15% discount. The Caribbean Cinemas also offer 2 for the price of one person on Thursdays.

The 2023 Made in DR Film Festival opens with the premiere of “Croma Kid,” a science fiction film by director Pablo Chea, starring Nashla Bogaert, David Mahler, Bosco Cárdenas Guzmán and Jaime Piña. David Mahler’s drama/comedy, “El Método,” starring Nashla Bogaert, Hector Anibal, Georgina Duluc, Pepe Sierra, Yasser Michelen, Dahiana Cordero and Roger Wasserman, closes the festival.
