The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) is warning the public, especially those living on the northern parts of the Dominican Republic, to be cautious. Onamet says that very rough seas and heavy rains will affect the shores of the north through Tuesday, 12 September 2023.
Hurricane Lee was downgraded from a Category 5 hurricane to a Category 3 but still backs strong winds and heavy thunderstorm activity.
The storm will not touch the island of Hispaniola, but it will affect local weather for several days, according to Onamet.
