Vice President Raquel Peña will travel to India on an official visit from Tuesday, 3 October to Thursday, 5 October 2023. She will meet with senior officials of the government of India and will hold meetings with business people of that country.
Peña is accepting an invitation made by the government of India.
On the agenda of the Vice President in India is a meeting with the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, and the Vice President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, and a meeting with Indian Foreign Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, who was in the country in April 2023 on an official visit.
She will visit the new members of parliament and meet with the president of the Lower House, Lok Sabha.
The Vice President will meet with Indian businesspeople and will offer a conference at the ICWA, the International Council on Global Affairs. She will visit the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology in New Delhi. This visit will further strengthen ties between India and the Dominican Republic, to allow the development of new projects and agreements that will benefit both nations.
