The ruling Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) announced the outcome of polls to choose the senators in eight provinces.
The PRM candidates for the 19 May 2024 congressional elections are:
Ricardo de los Santos, Sanchez Ramírez (Cotuí)
Ginnete Bournigal, Puerto Plata
Pedro Catrain, Samana
Franklin Romero, Duarte (San Francisco de Macorís)
The above four seek to be reelected in 2024.
Others chosen are:
Secundino Velázquez Pimentel, Pedernales
Jhonson Encarnación Díaz, Elías Piña
These two competed in the 2020 election and lost.
Also chosen to run for the PRM are:
Gustavo Lara Salazar (San Cristóbal)
Aracelis Villanueva (San Pedro de Macorís)
