
The Presidency launched its National Artificial Intelligence Strategy through Decree 498-23. Bartolomé Pujals, executive director of the Innovation Cabinet of the Presidency and general director of the Information and Communications Technologies Office of the Presidency (OGTIC), has led the effort for the Presidency.
Pujals explained that the strategy seeks to place these advances at Dominicans’ service through training in the use of artificial intelligence to encourage more to take on these new technologies.
During the presentation at the Presidential Palace, a demo of Taina, a citizen artificial intelligence pilot developed by Genia Latinoamérica, was presented. Taina will help citizens request permits from the government, renew their ID, get a driver’s license, report a traffic accident, and more through voice or text.
