Current Deputy Faustina Guerrero Cabrera, popularly known as Gray Maldonado, who has an ongoing investigation underway as part of Operation Falcon in the Supreme Court of Justice, was chosen a candidate for legislator in the Chamber of Deputies, the ruling Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) announced on Wednesday, 11 October 2023.
She was chosen after positive results in the polls carried out by the PRM to select several of its candidates for the municipal and legislative level for the elections to be held in 2024.
Guerrero Cabrera is a civil engineer, married to the former director of Comunidad Digna, Juan Maldonado Castro, who is also under investigation in Operation Falcon.
Guerrero Cabrera was elected to the Chamber of Deputies, El Seibo-PRM, a position previously held by her husband. She received 22,788 votes of which 10,830 were preferential votes of the PRM and allies in the 2020 election.
For Operation Falcon, the judiciary has investigated more than 30 people who are suspect of being part of a dismantled criminal network dedicated to laundering drug trafficking assets, international arms trafficking and the illegal sponsorship of political campaigns to gain protection and immunity.
