Carrefour, the largest French supermarket chain brand, has expanded and opened two Carrefour City supermarkets at the Correa y Cidron #10 in Matahambre, Cervantes 6 corner Casimiro Moya addresses, where previously Cadena brand supermarkets operated. Carrefour City is also at Paseo de los Locutores #76 in Quisqueya neighborhood.
Carrefour also operates the mid-sized Carrefour Market on Sarasota Avenue near Núñez de Cáceres Avenue, and its main store, Plaza Duarte on Duarte Highway.
The difference between the names is that Carrefour is a hypermarket, selling groceries, clothes, electrical appliances, furniture, and more.
Carrefour Market and Carrefour City branded stores are open from 7am to 10pm every day, Carrefour at Plaza Duarte opens from 8 to 10pm.
