The Ministry of Sports published a photo showing athletes in the uniforms the Dominican team will wear during the Pan Am Games in Santiago de Chile.
The Dominican delegation to the Pan American Games in Chile is 238-athlete strong. The Pan Am Games are the most important regional sports competition in the Americas. This year the competitions are in Santiago de Chile from Friday, 20 October to Sunday, 5 November 2023.
Marileidy Paulino is the highest-ranked single Dominican athlete. She is the athlete to beat in the 400 m run. The Dominican women’s volleyball team, the Reinas del Caribe are also going for gold. The Dominican men’s basketball team seeks a medal, too.
Diario Libre reports on other Dominican athletes who could medal. These are: Beatriz Piron and Dahiana Ortiz in weightlifting, Bernardo Pie and Cristofer Reyes in taekwondo, Audrys Nin and Leandro Peña in gymnastics, Victoria Garza, Frandiel Gomez and Jonathan Ruvalcaba en diving, Andres Martijena and Josue Dominguez in swimming. Also Julio Dujarric and Stefano Hazoury in skeet.
