
The National Police reported the death of an alleged criminal, identified as one of the thieves participating in the Detroit Tigers Baseball Academy robbery last week. The Police said Miguel Antonio Benjamin Arias (Preilin) was killed by Police when he responded to a Police patrol that tried to arrest him in the Laguna Mata Caliche area, San José de Los Llanos municipality in San Pedro de Macorís.
There was an arrest warrant for Benjamín Arias (Preilin), who was wanted in response to the armed robbery on 19 October 2023 at the Detroit Tigers Baseball Sports Academy, located on the Ramón Santana highway, San Pedro de Macorís.
The Police retained a Taurus brand pistol, model PT92 AF, cal. 9mm, filed numbering, with its charger and 8 capsules, cal. 9mm.
The Police says that another suspected robber of baseball academies, César Augusto Lorenzo Valdez (Andy Dracula), 32, was killed last week when he shot at police agents on his trail with a Smith & Wesson brand pistol, 9mm caliber, with no visible numering, that he was carrying illegally.
“Andy Dracula” was one of six alleged criminals, identified as the perpetrators of several robberies at baseball academies.
