The athletics competition is expected to deliver drama and delight at Santiago 2023 from 29 October to 4 November 2023. Attention at the track and field events in the 19th Pan American Games is on the participation of world champions Marileidy Paulino of the Dominican Republic and Canada’s Ethan Katzberg, among others.
Marileidy Paulino will compete in 200 m. She is the world champion in 400 m. She has the Dominican record in 200 m but has not competed much internationally in the event. She will compete in the preliminaries on Wednesday, 1 November 2023. A medal for Marileidy Paulino in Chile, would be a first in a Pan Am Games for her.
