A fire in the first floor of the Ministry of Education on Ave. Maximo Gomez was reported to the Fire Department at around 6am. Employees were sent home. Four fire engines were sent to the Ministry.
As reported, the fire started in a small kitchen in the human resources department.
General José Luis Herasme, chief of the National District firefighters, said the smoke impeded the prompt locating of where the fire had originated. There were no flames, just smoke.
