
President Luis Abinader, who presides the National Council of the Magistracy (CNM), opens the public hearings of the candidates to the Constitutional Court. The first 16 candidates of 115 applicants will present their candidacies at the Presidential Palace to the members of the CNM on Monday, 27 November 2024 as of 9am.
The public hearings for the Constitutional Court judges will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Five judges need to be chosen, including the replacement for the president of the Constitutional Court.
The CNM is the government body in charge of choosing the judges for the government’s superior courts.
